I am almost hundred percent positive that you already know countless running benefits. However, no matter how much you think running will benefit you, you'll never get close to realizing its importance. Someone could literally write dozens of books only to show that you need to start running as soon as possible. Besides the fact that running is fun, it also has many advantages over other sports. Whether you want to lose some extra weight, stay in shape or just that your doctor recommended it, here are three running benefits for you:
1- Physical and mental health:
Most people approach running because they have health issues. I don't know the exact reason, but we are triggered only if we feel that our life is in danger. I know that prevention is better than treatments, but believe me when I say it's never too late to start running. As an average person you could easily burn 100 calories by running only one mile, and that's why it is considered as one of the fastest ways to lose weight. Many scientific researches also prove that doing a physical activity (especially running) will make your brain release Endorphins. When these hormones are released into the brain, you get a euphoric feeling (I know that you have experienced that if you are already a runner). Many people also practice running in a regular basis because it lowers blood pressure by making your arteries more elastic.
2- Doesn't require expensive equipment:
If you want to do body building or any other sport, then you definitely need to spend some money. With running, you can literally start doing it today. While you can use whatever shoes and clothes you have, it's advisable that you stay away from rubber shoes and get yourself running shoes in order to prevent injuries. It's also very easy and accessible as it doesn't require a specific place to do it in.
3- You can run alone:
Many sports require you to have another person in order to practice them. The good thing about running is that you don't have to check with your friend's schedule in order to do it. You just go running whenever you feel so. While you can absolutely run alone, I advise you to go with a running group in order to stay consistent. If you join a running club, then you will encourage each other into keeping running.
I'm sure there are hundreds of other running benefits, but I hope you got my point.
